Vegetable & Herb Garden Boxes

Vegetable & Herb Garden Boxes

I’ve always dreamed of having one of those “pinterest-esque” gardens.  You know the ones you see on zillions of boards showing the garden boxes, filled with veggies and herbs all beautifully arranged.  The kind of garden where you can pick your evening veg from, like salad greens or herb leaves for what ever you’re concocting in the kitchen. Yes, I know you’ve dream of that too! Who hasn’t, right?

Well, this year for Christmas my hubby decided that this was the year to make my dream come true!  How sweet of him 🙂

It took many weeks of planning because it is a slow-to-come-together project as things don’t grow over night.  And it does take a while to decide on what exactly you want to do for the garden boxes.  He worked on it for months…Bless him!

Look at all the little growing pots…

I’ve got tomatoes, spaghetti squash, pumpkin and mint growing there….makes me SMILE!

squash- LOOK at my little flower. Those are edible…yum!

I wasn’t sure how he was going to put it all together because we had talked about so many things and ways to do things but I think he finally decided on a couple of options.

A wall plant pot display (made from pallets) and a couple of simple- rectangle garden boxes

My daughter wants to help but no one will give her the hammer! She’s not too happy about that!

Here are my two garden boxes!  Almost done…

My pallet wall pot display….love it!

There is something so satisfying about DIY projects.  I know I didn’t do much with these except giving my opinion on where things should go, but I know that my husband and the kids had a really good time in the garden putting these together.  It’s fun watching things grow!

I think there may be another DIY garden project in the works…and it may be a little bit of a surprise again.  I found these sitting in the garden this morning 🙂
