My name is Amanda Freedman, Zia (pronounced zee-ah – the Italian word for “Aunt”) extraordinaire! I am brand new to blogging, though I love to read blog posts from other writers. In the past year and a half I got engaged, adopted a French Bulldog puppy, bought a house, renovated that house and got married…in that order. Needless to say, the last few months were a whirlwind! My husband and I do not have any children (yet) but we are looking forward to when that time comes, and I hope to take you all on the journey with me! For now we enjoy being “parents” to Molly, our French Bulldog puppy who thinks she is the boss of our household and who continues to bring us happiness (and plenty of laughs) every day. I am Italian and Bahamian and my husband is Colombian and American – so we have plenty of culture in our house. I have two amazing nephews and one amazing niece! I love spending time with them and watching them grow and change as they explore the world around them. I take my role as an Aunt very seriously and my niece and nephews think my name is “Ziamanda”. I hope that they think I am a pretty cool Zia. I was fortunate to have the influence of many a special aunt and uncle in my life and I am thrilled to be able to pass on the same to them. My interests include travelling, reading, pinning on Pinterest, spending time with friends and family, hosting dinner parties or game nights, practising yoga, cooking (though hubby is a better cook than I am – should I admit that?), going to the beach or on the boat and curling up on the sofa with a glass of wine or cup of tea and a blanket while watching a movie on Netflix with my husband and Molly. These days I am working on decorating my new house, settling into life as a “Mrs.”, learning how to garden (I kill everything green) and trying new things as often as I can. I can’t wait to start this journey with you guys!
